Film Screening of Responsible
On Wednesday 29 January, amplifi hosted an unforgettable evening at the Town Hall in Tunbridge Wells, welcoming over 70 attendees to a special screening of the film Responsible. This thought-provoking film, directed by Tristan Lochon, explores the urgent need for businesses to shift from traditional practices to more sustainable and responsible models. The event offered more than just a screening—it was a chance for like-minded professionals to come together, connect, and inspire one another to drive meaningful change.

A Night Focused on Sustainability
The evening began with a networking reception where guests were treated to sustainably-sourced drinks from Charlie’s Angels Kitchens and delicious popcorn provided by Candy Kent. As attendees mingled, the atmosphere buzzed with conversation about the changing landscape of business responsibility. It was a fitting introduction to the film, which presents the challenge of reshaping business practices in light of our current environmental and social challenges.

The film itself was a powerful exploration of what it means to run a business responsibly. Responsible focuses on the inspiring stories of companies that are leading the way in ethical and sustainable business practices. Featuring companies such as Patagonia, Tony’s Chocolonely, and Wholegrain Digital, the film highlighted the transformative impact these businesses have made by prioritising both people and the planet. With interviews from leading figures in sustainability, including the former CEO of Unilever, the film delivered a strong message: “If you don’t move your business as usual to business unusual, we won’t get there.”
Our goal at amplifi is to drive meaningful change in the business community, so ‘Responsible’ was the perfect film to showcase at this event. It’s cinema with a purpose—an opportunity to reflect on the future of business and the positive impact companies can have on the world.
Fostering Meaningful Conversations
Following the screening, the real work began. Guests were invited to participate in small discussion groups, where they could delve deeper into the film’s key messages and share their thoughts on how to apply these ideas in their own businesses. This interactive element of the evening gave attendees the chance to reflect on the film’s powerful case studies and explore what changes they could make to adopt more environmentally responsible practices within their own organisations.

The discussions were lively and insightful. Many guests reflected on the case studies that resonated most with them. Some were inspired by Patagonia’s commitment to the environment, while others found Tony’s Chocolonely’s stance on fair trade and social justice particularly compelling. The question that lingered in the air was: Is there such a thing as a truly responsible business? While there’s no definitive answer, the discussions highlighted that every step towards sustainability—no matter how small—counts.
In addition to these discussions, the amplifi team used the opportunity to share their plans and initiatives for the upcoming year. As we move into 2025, the team is committed to supporting businesses on their own sustainability journeys, providing guidance and collaboration opportunities to help accelerate progress toward net-zero goals
A Call for Collaboration and Action
The evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of working together to drive sustainability within businesses. amplifi believes that by collaborating, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another, we can move closer to achieving net-zero goals faster. The company’s mission is clear: "Amplifi is an open tent, and we warmly welcome new members who share our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices."
